Hi there, I’m Tyler for those who don’t already know me. Katrina wants me to contribute to the blog from time to time. Hopefully I can bring something interesting to the table every now and then.

Katrina may be the resident artiste our household, but I try to give her a run for her money with my ears. As long as I can remember, I’ve been involved with music. I started with a half-sized violin when I was five and eventually finished my Bachelors in music a few years ago. Our mutual love of art is something that continually keeps us close, inspired, and productive.

In that respect, my interests stay somewhat scattered.  Let’s see…

I’m into creating pieces out of sound samples. Some people refer to it as electroacoustic composition. One is built entirely out samples of water, another from tools in a garage, and there’s even one from a friend’s laughter.

In the last few months, I’ve also caught the photography bug. We finally got a DSLR for Ma Joie Press back in April. So far, it’s come really naturally and I’ve had a blast doing it.  Something about f-stops and shutter speeds speaks to the physics nut in me.
